FAA Acting Administrator Michael Huerta

FAA Administrator Michael Huerta spoke to CFS attendees via videotaped message on March 6th. His scheduled appearance in person was canceled due to sequestration and the need for him to manage the situation from FAA headquarters in Washington, D.C. Huerta, in the message, salutes NATCA and its members. “Most of you are here on your own time because you care about safety,” he says. “And your presence illustrates how you do your job.” Huerta congratulates everyone at NATCA for “bringing us together” at the conference. He also pays tribute to the ninth annual Archie League Medal of Safety Award winners, who will be honored at tonight’s banquet. “Your professionalism and commitment to safety is making us so proud,” Huerta says. “We run the safest airspace system in the world.”
